What is Stragedy? How can you avoid it? What should you do when stragedy strikes?
Stragedy is when your plans, processes, and programs…… fail.
Fail to plan and you plan to fail. I’m a believer in measuring everything, drawing up a plan of action, executing, evaluating, reprogramming, and re-executing. But what happens when all of your team’s wisdom just isn’t good enough? Stragedy happens.
Can you avoid it? No, you can never completely avoid it. If you’re doing anything of value, you will take necessary risks, you will fail, and that’s perfectly fine. People fail, I’ve failed, you’ve fail, we’ll all fail again. Being afraid of failure means being afraid of doing anything meaningful.
So what should you do when you fail? Pray. Actually, no. The time for prayer has passed. This would be the time for learning. Was prayer a part of your original game plan? Did you ask God to guide you or did you ask Him to bless the plans you already made? Did you seek counsel or did you go at it alone?
If God was not in it, then failing is the best thing that could’ve happened. If God was in it, then there’s a lesson in that failure that you absolutely must learn if you’re going to grow as a Christian.
Next time you’re putting together a plan for a ministry endeavor, start with prayer. Does God even want you to proceed? Does the endeavor line up with the vision of the Church? What do some other ministry leaders think? These are all questions that must be answered before you even think about putting together a plan or proposal.
How do you deal with Stragedy?
