S. Truett Cathy rose from poverty to build an incredible fast food chain, Chick-fil-A. There are countless things to admire about them, here are a few….
Chicken. That’s it. Fried, grilled, in a bun, on a salad, or just the chicken itself. It’s done simple and it’s done right. Need a paleo snack while on the run? Go by Chick-fil-A and you can order grilled chicken bites or grilled chicken wrapped in lettuce. Chick-fil-A is the only fast food place that we frequent. I’m not trying to say that it’s good for you, but it is good.
The food always tastes great, the facilities are always clean, and the employees are always nice. We can learn a thing or two!
They close on Sundays. I personally hate this one. Who does that? It seems that this would be a great place to go after church, right? I guess not. Chick-fil-A has done just fine being open 6 days a week. That I don’t like, but I do respect it!
Also, I don’t care whether you agree with his family’s political and religious views or not, you have to respect someone who speaks out in defense of their convictions. Specifically, I’m talking about his family’s defense of traditional marriage and their belief in giving babies an opportunity to live (pro-life). There have even been some politicians who have vowed never to have a Chick-fil-A open in their city (ex. Chicago and Boston). All because these politicians put their own politics and religious beliefs ahead of what could have benefited their cities. The Cathy family may have taken some heat in the press for their beliefs, but customers lined up out the door in order to speak with their dollars. And during the whole traditional marriage controversy in specific, Chick-fil-A had it’s most profitable day.
How can you not love this company?
