Days 1 and 2

Days 1 and 2 were a miss and hit. Day 1 miss, Day 2 hit.

Day 1

I woke up in Philadelphia and decided to start the day with crappy hotel room coffee. I checked out and drove to the city to hit up some sites. After driving around for a few minutes I realized what a beautiful Saturday morning it was, and that the city was flooded with tourists. I also realized that my car and lack of wanting to pay $20 for parking everywhere I went, restricted what I could do. I stopped by Grindhouse Cafe and picked up a Chai Latte and muffin, $8. I hit the road. Next stop, DC.

About 5 hours later (should’ve taken 3), I drove into what has quickly become my favorite city, DC. I found a parking spot (miracle) right next to my favorite restaurant, Ted’s Bulletin. I sat down at the counter and ordered the walk of shame burrito and a latte. I scarfed it down and decided to take some snacks for the road, S’mores milkshake, two homemade pop tarts, and sno balls. Before you judge me, read this article! Ouch! $45.

Last stop before arriving in Boone, a quick Starbucks detour in Virginia, Americano, $3.

Total: $56

Day 2

Day 2 was a complete win. I started off with a pot (small) of black coffee, later on I ate a large cup of nonfat plain Greek yogurt with a banana and some hazelnut butter and finished the day off with a protein shake and some spinach.

I also went to Wal-Mart. Chicken breasts, spinach, apples, windshield wipers (necessary), bananas, eggs, and a Batman t-shirt (also necessary). Total hit: $57. Not too bad!

Then I came home and prepped my meals for the next few days, eggs, chicken, and spinach. FTW.

Total: $57
