Welcome to Colorado Springs, Colorado! Colorado Springs is a beautiful little city just south of Denver. It has one of the best airports around, is close to all the fun things Colorado has to offer, and has plenty of great restaurants. And yes, that’s a statue with a shirt on.
I always enjoy coming to Colorado, especially to Colorado Springs. I usually don’t have much free time when I’m here but there are two things that I NEVER miss.
Garden of the Gods
Colorado Springs may be on the smaller side, but it’s got just about anything you can ask for, including plenty of great places to eat. Here are a few of my favorites.
Phantom Canyon Brewing Company
Located in downtown Colorado Springs, this place is so awesome, I went twice. It has a cool feel and interesting dishes like pork belly tacos, bratwurst sandwich, and southern fried chicken. It also has “regular” dishes like burgers and steak. The prices are good at $10-$20 per meal.
The Perk Downtown
Another delicious hipster coffee place. Expect to pay about $4 for a latte, which has unfortunately become standard practice nowadays. The cinnamon rolls and other baked goods look great, but I abstained. It competes with a Starbucks right in front of it. I used the word “competes” loosely. There were three customers there during my entire time. Starbucks is clearly winning. It also doesn’t help that their signage is terrible. I was looking for it and walked right by without realizing it. Also, its name on Yelp is different than the name on its sign. It’s similar, but different.
La Baguette Bakery
This is a coffee shop and bakery in the downtown area. It has good espresso and really good baked goods (I had an eclair). It also has soups, salads, and sandwiches on the menu. It has great prices and plenty of seating.
All of these pictures are already making me look forward to my next trip!
