I would like to share with you a Calvary Chapel Kendall staff meeting devotional. This message was shared by Pastor Pedro Garcia. This is a summary, any mistakes are my own!
1. We’re to have an expectant faith. A faith that expects God to move.
You should never have complete control. You should be well outside of your comfort zone. Working outside of our comfort zone is a sign of faith.
The world needs to see our faith. Are we taking risks, steps of faith, or are we trying to maintain what we already have? We should never ride the coattails of our past accomplishments. The ministry we did last year was great, for last year. We should always seek what God has for us next.
We should always be under-resourced and over-visioned. We should never settle for what we already have. When we settle for what we have and what we know we can accomplish, we’re pushing God out of the equation. The Great commission can’t be accomplished by human efforts. It must be done by God Himself!
2. We’re to have a faith that encourages. A faith that builds people up.
The world is a discouraging place to live in. Let’s share burdens with people. Many people need a word of encouragement. We can lift a person up just by the way we speak to them.
The devil and the world does a good enough job of ripping people up, let’s not partake in that. Let’s be generous with our words. Let’s encourage people, build them up, speak highly of them and to them. Not only for those on our team, but for everyone we come in contact with. People don’t forget these things, share an encouraging word with someone and watch how their attitude changes.
