As usual, the believers at Calvary Chapel Kendall made Sunday awesome. Week in and week out, it’s amazing the dedication, passion, and love that our volunteers show.
It’s tempting that after a long work week, you’ll want to sleep in on Sunday morning. The same goes for us! Being a pastor doesn’t mean that I don’t like sleeping in! After all, we also work all week long. Still, no matter how tired I may feel in the morning, doing church at Calvary Kendall energizes and excites me. I know it’s the same for our volunteers, many of whom work 40 to 50 hours per week at difficult, high stress jobs and then still decide to serve with us on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Children’s Ministry at Calvary Kendall is blessed with an awesome team of volunteers who love kids and strive for excellence, week in and week out. Leading a team this great is my privilege and honor. What makes them great? They’re called to serve God by serving others, and they take that calling seriously. Leading this team is not something I take lightly and I hope I never take it for granted.
Community at Calvary Kendall
Do you find it a struggle to attend church every Sunday? Maybe that’s the problem. I truly don’t understand how someone can be satisfied with merely attending church. Community comes from doing LIFE with others, day in and day out. That includes serving in your church. Serving in a ministry will lock you into a community like never before. If what you do is attend, then you’ll never thrive at your church. It’s like going to a football game to watch others play, hoping to one day make it to the NFL. You’ll never do it! You have to jump in the game! It doesn’t matter what your experience is or what your level of faith is. You won’t learn what you need to by watching from the sideline. Do whatever you have to do to jump in the game. That’s the only way you’ll find community, camaraderie, and experience teamwork. It’s the only way you’ll find LIFE.
You’ll be blessed, loved, challenged, even stretched and possibly pounded! But one thing is for sure, you will grow!
